Our Services: Additional Services
Complementary Service Offerings for Complete Turnkey Operations.
In addition to its core services, LVI offers related and often complementary services that leverage our expertise in complex projects involving a remediation component and take full advantage of our skills.
• Lead abatement
• Decontamination and Decommissioning
• Drying and Dehumidification
• Biological and chemical decontamination
Nationwide, LVI teams have completed more lead removal and asbestos abatement projects than anyone in the industry, involving environments and facilities from bridges and pipelines, to hospitals, office buildings, multi-family residential buildings, shipyards and public utilities.
We approach lead-based paint abatement the same way we do asbestos. We remove and encapsulate the lead-containing materials, then seal the surface that was remediated and prepare it to be refinished in non-lead-based materials.
We use the same experienced labor force, and our workers complete EPA-approved training and receive certification in states that offer it.
With safety and quality as our primary objectives, our clients can be assured that the work will be performed responsibly, safeguarding the environment and protecting employees and residents.
Decontamination and Decommissioning
LVI’s decontamination and decommissioning service offering includes hands-on decontamination services, dismantling structures, soil excavation, asbestos and lead abatement, beryllium and arsenic dust abatement, biological and chemical decontamination and mold remediation.
Projects are generally large in scope and involve operations such as nuclear power plants, nuclear testing facilities, U.S. Department of Defense facilities and U.S. Department of Energy facilities.
LVI specializes in the application of spray-applied fireproofing to structural steel, with a primary focus on reapplication following the removal of asbestos-containing materials or other environmental projects.
Serving both the new construction and renovation markets, we deliver results that meet all code-related requirements and the specifications of project architects and engineers. We perform this technical service for clients in a variety of industries, including commercial, retail and health care, as well as for educational institutions.
LVI also installs intumescent paint, a specialized fire-retardant coating for exposed steel. Designed to look like cosmetic paint, this material – typically used for high-profile and architecturally complex buildings – allows the designer to leave the building structure exposed while providing the required fire rating. LVI has the technical knowledge to ensure that intumescent paint is applied with the appropriate thickness, primers and topcoats to meet all codes and requirements of the project.
Drying and Dehumidification
LVI has the capability to respond to multiple regional catastrophes in the United States and abroad with its extensive inventory of drying equipment, including high-velocity air movers, negative air machines, and refrigerant and desiccant dehumidification equipment.
Utilizing state-of-the-art moisture identification equipment including thermal imagery, we first inspect and identify wet building components such as sheet rock, ceilings and walls. Based on that assessment, we develop a strategy and course of action to dry the affected areas as quickly as possible. By acting swiftly and decisively, we are able to mitigate microbial concerns.
With this proven approach, LVI continues to be a leader in the drying of water-damaged buildings and in helping clients resume normal operations in a timely manner.
Biological and Chemical Decontamination
LVI has a highly trained, specialized team to respond quickly to any release of biological or chemical agents. Our methods, which involve identifying the agent and then designing a plan to neutralize and decontaminate it, can be used in the most sensitive areas, with minimal disruption in office buildings, banks, airports, retail malls, hospitals, government buildings, industrial plants, utilities and educational institutions. LVI's specialized biochemical remediation response group is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to meet any emergency decontamination needs with a response system that can be put into place quickly. Our employees are trained in OSHA’s Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER).
